Family cabin within easy walking distance of downtown Twain Harte 4-season resort. The well-maintained two-story cabin is situated on one of Twain Harte's quietest streets and includes a front and back deck. Our classic cabin has two air-conditioned bedrooms downstairs & two upstairs, two full baths. Full kitchen, BBQ, electric fireplace, air-conditioned living room, dining room, toys, games, DVDs. The large back deck overlooks a small fenced backyard. Plenty of deer come through every day. Drive to Yosemite (2 hours), San Francisco (3 hours), Calaveras Big Trees (1 hour), Columbia State Park (20 minutes), Bodie ghost town (2.5 hours) , Black Oak Casino (10 minutes), Cover's Apple Ranch (10 minutes), and historic downtown Sonora (15 minutes).

Walk to restaurants, summer movies/music in the park, downtown Twain Harte, local trails, golf, tennis, bocce ball courts, a public pool, parks & shopping. Winter offers Dodge Ridge ski resort just 25 minutes up the road.

Come enjoy our members-only Twain Harte Lake. It's a great family lake with slides, swim docks, diving boards, lifeguards, a snack bar, and use of our lake toys and paddleboard. Only a 3-minute drive from the cabin.

Looking to develop a regular exchange with a Santa Cruz-area vacation owner, as well as others (Big Sur, CA and Portland, OR area). We really want an exchange in Iceland, Scotland or anywhere in Scandinavia for a week or two in early June 2023.

The town of Twain Harte is located at 3,800 feet elevation, on the foothills of the High Sierra mountains. Known as California's Gold Country, the area has four distinct seasons, with pleasant summers and mild winters.

Bordering the Stanislaus National Forest, Twain Harte is located on California Highway 108, outside of Sonora, just 2.5 hours east of San Francisco. Yosemite is an 80 minute drive to the south through beautiful forests and quaint mountain towns.

Our cabin is on of Twain Harte's quietest streets and is close to town (5 - 10 minute walk). Deer come through every day and we have a nice mix of full-time neighbors and vacation-home owners. Our neighborhood, and the entire town, is great for walking. There are several trails within walking distance, as well as fishing just a five minute drive away.

There are 10 restaurants/cafes within walking distance. Eproson park has a skate park, bocce ball courts, playground, baseball park & movies/music on summer weekends. Also within walking distance: public golf, tennis, pool, shopping, trails & regular street fairs.

Short drives to Black Oak Casino, Cover's Apple Ranch (restaurant, train ride, farm walk), downtown Jamestown & Sonora (popular gold rush towns with antiques, restaurants, museums, fairs, etc), Railtown 1897, Pinecrest Lake, Dodge Ridge Ski Area, Columbia State Park (the best-preserved gold rush town in America!), Natural Bridges, Moaning Caverns & Zip Lines, Ironstone Vineyards, Murphys (gold rush/wine town), Calaveras Big Trees State Park, local fishing, boating, hiking & mountain biking.

Longer drives (1.5 hours to 2.5 hours): Yosemite (114 km), Bodie (amazing old-west ghost town), Mono Lake, Bear Valley Ski Resort, Sonora Pass & Pacific Coast Trail, Lake Topaz, South Lake Tahoe (3 hours), Groveland, & many other Motherlode/Gold Rush towns & museums. My family's personal favorite is to drive over Sonora Pass (Highway 108) to Highway 395. Visit Bridgeport, Bodie, and Mono Lake, then drive through Yosemite (Highway 120) back to 108 for a full circle. Some of the most beautiful scenery in the world! It is important to leave our house clean and tidy for the next guest, house cleaners are available at a reasonable price after departure. No smoking, pets or outdoor fires (ok during winter; local regulations). Not a party house; nearby full-time neighbors.
