If you love organ Music you are in paradise because this area has the highest density of organs I believe in the world. If you love nature you are only 30 min away from the Wadden Sea World Heritage Nature Site that includes the West Frisian Islands and Coast of the Netherlands, the East Frisian Islands and coast of Lower Saxony, continuing all the way to Denmark with tidal flats, salt marshes and islands. Here locally the Nationalpark of Lower Saxony is responsible for it's part of the World Heritage area and has a network of 18 visitor facilities with numerous activities from bird watching, harbour porpoise watching in March and April, harbour seal boat tours, wadden sea mud flat tours, exhibitions, etc.. The main visitor Center where Roger worked for nearly 30 years is located on the south beach of Wilhelmshaven. The Nationalpark Administration and the Trilateral Wadden Sea Secretariat are also located in Wilhelmshaven. Two of the most important Events in the Nationalpark are the Harbour porpoise days (03.-09. April 2020) and the Bird Migration Day (Zugvogeltage 10.-18.October 2020). Wilhelmshaven is also the largest naval base in Germany. Schortens is about 18 km from Wilhlemshaven. One of the biggest breweries in Germany is in the next town of Jever. There you can watch how the whole brewing process is made and watch your next beer being bottled. I will stop here because I don't want to write a book! This is one of Germany's most visited area. The local Harbours with their shrimping boats are interesing to visit and offer nice Picture motives. You can Waterski in Hooksiel, take a guided wadden sea mudflat tour with a Nationalparkführer walking on the sea floor by low time to one of the beautiful Islands such as Spiekeroog.
