Close to Münsters historical city center, where the peace treaty ending the 30 years-lasting war (1618-1648) was signed. Not far from the dutch border (45min by train) and the largest metropolitan area in Europe (the Ruhrgebiet with cities like Dortmund, Essen, Bochum...) with heaps of cultural activities. Münster itself is a very lively city with more than 40000 students and well know for being the city of bikes. By train you can reach Amsterdam and Hamburg in about 2h, Berlin is 4h away.
