Vårt hjem

Beskrivelse av hjemmet vi tilbyr å bytte bort

Our home is spacious and light-filled, with a small garden in the back and a shared playground in front. The ground floor is open-plan, with a kitchen, dining- and sitting-area, and a guest bathroom. The first floor has a full bathroom and three bedrooms, one with a balcony. The second floor has two bedrooms, one with a balcony, as well as an office, and a bathroom (with a shower). In the cellar there is a laundry room and two storage rooms.
We have three additional guest mattresses, you are welcome to use these.
All the rooms have wifi. You can play table-tennis table in the back garden, or have meals at the outdoor dining area. We have plenty of bicycles for both small and big guests. Although our "babies" are now ten, we still have a cot and two high chairs, as well as push cars, a pedal-tractor, and toys for all ages.
We don't have any pets. We love all types of animals, and would be happy to take care of any pets.

We live in Neuenheim, four minutes' walk from the river Neckar and ten minutes' walk from the centre of Heidelberg. It is a beautiful part of town, with plenty of cafés and restaurants, a cinema, and a twice-weekly market with local produce as well as French and Italian food stalls. Our house is set back from the road, in a leafy, pedestrianised cul-de-sac, with a gated entrance. There is a private playground for the families in the cul-de-sac, with swings, a sandpit, and a climbing frame.
We are two minutes on foot from a supermarket, a specialty French bakery, a pharmacy, several churches, and a butchers - no need for a car here.
There is a bus stop just steps from the front gate and a tram stop a two-minute walk from our house.
On the river Neckar there are pedal-boats for renting, amazing playgrounds, football fields, beach volleyball, and several riverside cafés.

Heidelberg has great quality of life, with the river Neckar, a castle, several museums, cinemas, and theatres. The main shopping street "Hauptstrasse" is the longest in Europe, with a broad selection of boutiques. The Christmas market is very beautiful, with stalls across the town selling candles, decorations, regional food specialities, and mulled wine.
In the summer, there are paddle boats for hire on the river Neckar, two great open-air swimming pools nearby, and three or four lakes within a 20-minute drive, with sandy beaches and on-site restaurants.
The city of Mannheim is a fifteen-minute drive away, with more art galleries, museums, and a big-city shopping experience.
It is a 50-minute drive to Frankfurt airport, a bus company offers a great shuttle service, and the train connection is very good.
It's a hour's drive to the French border, if you'd like a day trip to the beautiful Alsace region.

We can arrange home exchanges during school holidays. You will find our house tidy and clean, and I'm sure we'll find it in the same condition. We will of course similarly respect any home we stay in. We don't smoke and we would be happy if our guests did not smoke in the house. Our neighbours are lovely and will be available if you have any questions.
