The modern apartment is located in a quiet street in walking distance of the old part of the town of Heidelberg, close to the river Neckar.

Heidelberg is a historic town, hosting the famous castle of the Elector Palatine and the oldest university in Germany (1386). The surroundings are very scenic and subject of many poems and songs. Pictures and information about Heidelberg are available on www.heidelberg.de.

Among the places of interest in the wider environment are the Roman settlements of Ladenburg and Trier, the palace of Schwetzingen with its French gardens, medieval towns like Speyer, Worm, Strasbourg , Rothenburg, Würzburg or the pleasing landscapes of the Rhine valley, the Blackforest and Lake Constance.

If you come from overseas, Heidelberg may be an ideal basis for exploring Europe. Heidelberg lies within less than 500 km distance from Paris and Prague, Milano and Amsterdam, Geneva and Berlin. You may use my car to see a substantial part of Europe. Frankfurt airport is about 50 minutes away from Heidelberg by train or bus.
