We felt very welcome. Typical for this holiday was the bad luck with the weather. There has been often, a lot of pouring rain in these three weeks. In both Zuidlaren and Göttingen. Very unusual. But your beautiful, characteristic and tastefully decorated home was the perfect hideaway. We loved sitting in the kitchen and on the porch overlooking the beautiful garden. An oasis of peace in cozy Göttingen. The kids loved the cats and the youngest loved to pick up one of your many books to read to them while they were having dinner. Inside, the children did a lot of tinkering, drawing, claying and building with the available duplo and playmobile. Also the Göttingen-monopoly has been played. The city and the surrounding area has a lot of outdoor potential and whenever it seemed to dry up a bit, we went out. We have enjoyed Seeburg am See several times (pedal boating, walking) and we cycled for a day in the fields, hills, villages around the city. Beautiful, sporty and rewarding with beautiful views due to the height differences. A highlight in the holiday was the impressive, unique waterworks of Kassel/Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe. This has no equal I am convinced. We also enjoyed the Harz Mountains for several days (Quedlinburg, Goslar and its mines, Thale, the Taufelsmauer, Walkenried, the Unicorn cave, etc.). Really nice! In Göttingen itself we painted ceramics, swam several times and enjoyed the cozy citycenter. And for those who ever visit the city: the famous Baumkuchen from Cron an Lanz is a must. Fair is fair, because of the rain we were unable to experience the full potential of the region, but we look back with satisfaction and are grateful for what we have experienced. We want to thank you for everything you did to make the exchange a success. Thank you very much dear Esther!
