We live in the leafy, quiet suburb of Lichterfelde Ost with only a 10-minute walk to the city limit where there's plenty of opportunity to go hiking or cycling (on the "Berliner Mauerweg", for example). There's also a very nice park just around the corner ("Lilienthalpark") and there's playgrounds in all directions. Of course, you're probably coming to Berlin to see the city rather than the outskirts, so there's a bus just at the end of our street which brings you to the S-Bahn/regional train station of Lichterfelde Ost in about 5 minutes. From there, there's direct S-Bahn service to Potsdamer Platz or Friedrichstraße, for example. Our immediate neighbourhood consists mainly of detached or semi-detached houses, so it's a very green, quiet and relaxing area. Nevertheless, there are quite a few restaurants within walking distance (Indian, Greek, Italian, Austrian), and many more if you're prepared to go on a short bus ride.

Being located at the outskirts of the city, of course the cultural highlights of Berlin are not within walking distance. Our neighbourhood is ideal for people who are looking for some peace and quiet, for example after a long day of sightseeing in the city centre. There's plenty of opportunity to go for extensive walks or to explore the area by bicycle, and around Lichterfelde Ost train station (which is 5 minutes by bus or a 20-minute walk), there's shops for almost everything.

We'd like you to leave our house in the same state we handed it over to you. We want you to enjoy your vacation and it's okay if not everything is pristine, but please hoover the place before you leave and clean the bathroom and kitchen.
If you bring your dog, it's allowed on the sofa but not in the the bathroom. Our dog is not allowed in our bed either, but that's up to you to decide.
You can smoke on the terrace but not in the house, please.
If there's any fruit or veg ripe in the garden, enjoy! We'd be grateful if you could water our plants - the garden is not big, so it shouldn't be too much work.
You and your children are welcome to our board games, Lego, swing, little trampolin etc.
Please take off your shoes in the house. There's plenty of slippers you can use and also Croc's for the garden.
