Rob and I enjoy living in the South West where the pace of life is slower. We have 6 children between us and 7 grandchildren. We love the home exchange concept and enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new places and cultures. So being a retired couple, we are happy to receive offers, anytime and anywhere. We have had exchange guests in our home for the past 4 summers and all have appreciated the comfort and quiet of our home.
We have completed exchanges to California, Australia, New Zealand, France, South Africa, Peru and Costa Rica. We enjoy being outdoors and walking, good food, music and exploring different places. We enjoy quiet places with an abundance nature.

Our travel plans for 2024 are complete. Well equipped modern 4 bedroom detached house, in a quiet location in a rural Wiltshire village on the borders of Somerset and Dorset. We can offer two double bedrooms, of which one is ensuite with shower and there is a family bathroom. Kitchen, dining room and lounge with French doors onto a small garden with decking, BBQ and chiminea. Perfect for leisurely breakfasts before a busy day exploring.
Good access to travel routes: station 3miles (Gillingham, Dorset) London 2 hours, Bath (26miles) 45 minutes, Salisbury (26 miles) 40 minutes, Stonehenge World Heritage Site, (20 miles) 30 minutes, Jurassic Coast 75 minutes.
For the keen walker, miles of open countryside and footpaths up and across Mere Downs in an ancient landscape just yards from our front door. The village is a five minute walk and has great pubs!

Mere is a small country town, pop 2600, with a good range of amenities all within walking distance. On the borders of Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire. A rural location in a small village but good travel links in an ideal position for travelling to Bath, Salisbury and the Dorset coast. Many quaint villages in the locality and of course the local village pubs!

We prefer non-simultaneous exchanges as we like to travel during the UK winter months and would normally be in the UK, at our second home, if you are visiting in the U.K. summer months. . Our home is exceptionally clean and tidy and we would leave your home just the same. We normally travel on our own but may occasionally wish to travel with another couple.
