We spent a great couple of weeks in Loftus. Catherine's house was maybe a bit small for a family of four, but we finally got used to it and enjoyed living there. Our communication with Catherine before, during and even after the exchange was absolutely perfect. Loftus is a small town with all the necessary and it's very closed to a lot of points of interest. Beaches, hikings, villages or bigger towns (like York) are never far away, it was a very nice holiday !

Although on a busy High Road the property is set back from the road with a long front garden with mature shrubs and trees;so is very tranquil.
This is an area of outstanding natural beauty with it's proximity to the stunning landscape of the North Yorkshire moors;the Cleveland way coastal path,and the Esk valley with it's beautiful woodlands,river and picturesque villages.
The area invites you to the great outdoors.
There are organised (90mins) local healthwalks.I have the latest brochure.
Each Friday a walk sets out from the town hall,which is opposite the house.
So,don't forget your walking boots.
There are beautiful picturesque villages dotted along the coastline.
Staithes,Runswick,Sandsend and Whitby in one direction,and Skinningrove,Saltburn and Marske in the other.
Skinningrove is the lovely unspoilt beach which is within walking distance of the property.

From the house you are walking distance to amenities e.g bakers,coffee shops,pottery/art gallery/giftshop,pharmacy,doctors,
and dentist.
Takeaway eateries...Chinese,pizza,fish and chips.There are 3 pubs.One pub in Easington which serves food.
For walkers: from the house it is a 15/20 mins pleasant walk to the cliffs of Hummersea and thereafter the opportunity to continue along the Cleveland way either to the left the unspoilt beach of skinningroveor right in the direction of Runswick bay and Staithes.Thete are also lovely woodland walks from the property.....see Loftus accord walking group.
