From my home it’s a mere 1.5 km to a small beach, a tennis court and the possibility for beach volleyball. Further, it’s 4 km to the city centre of Ulvik. There you find two grocery stores for daily shopping and a souvenir shop. In the heart of the town centre, there is a charming church and a literary museum. Ulvik uniquely offers Norway’s only ‘fruit and cider route’- three farms produce products of apples, and welcome you to be their guest.

From our home it’s about 19 km to the Hardanger Bridge, Norway’s longest suspension bridge with its 1310 m, number twelve in the world. For comparison, it’s 30 m longer than the Golden Gate in San Francisco.

The nearest shopping centre is in Voss, a 45-minute drive from Ulvik. There you will find the railway station, providing easy access to trains to Bergen (about 1,5 hour) and Oslo (about 5,5 hours).
