A recommended hike from our cabin is to go to Mount Hangur (Hanguren) with a fantastic view of Voss and its surrounding mountains. The hike start 50 meters from our cabin, right by the forest path at the end of the small street by our cabin. Follow the forest path for about 2.5 km. From there on it is a path uphill the mountain for another 2-3 km which ends up at Mount Hangur.

Another recommended trip is to visit Bordalsgjelet. This is a spectacular natural attraction within a 45 min walking distance from the town centre. The deep and imposing Bordalsgjelet has been adapted for the visiting public with an information board, a viewpoint and benches for resting tired legs. When the ground isn’t hidden by snow it is possible to follow a purposely-built path that guides you to the gorge. Here you can experience an impressive view of the potholes that have been formed by the ice and river over a period of many thousands of years.

If you want to go for the less scary option while still experiencing being in free fall. Voss has an indoor popular wind tunnel (www.vossvind.no). Make sure to make your booking well in advance, which can be done online. Also suitable for kids from age 5 and above.
