They were more than gracious in leaving many snacks on The counter and a clear list of what we could use from the fridge and pantry. The condo was very clean and comfortable and afforded excellent transportation by foot or bus to all of the attractions Vancouver has to offer.
We had wished we could have reciprocated by providing a first meal/ snacks/ welcome package but our Mexican house is our second home and is normally a rental run by property managers. Nonetheless we hope they enjoyed their stay and felt comfortable and found the well provided kitchen to their liking.
I should mention that I use a mobility scooter. Doug and Diane’s home provided an out of the way place to store and charge it and the hallways and elevators were more than large enough to accommodate it ( which is rarely the case in Europe).
For those using mobility devices I should mention that Vancouver is probably the most accessible city I have ever visited. All buses had entrance ramps , a wide enough laneway to manoeuvre my scooter and a safe place to put it on the bus. On top of this, kudos to Vancouverites! Each time a bus arrived at our stop, even prior to entering the passengers lifted the accessible seats making room for the scooter and they moved out of the way. What a kind natured city!
