We are a family of 5. We love to travel and experience other cultures and countries. We love to cycle, walk, kayak and hike in our spare time. We love to visit places of historical interest / significance.
Kilian is a Postman and Jenny is a Community Worker. Callum is a student in University of Limerick and Conor & Oisin are students in the secondary school in nearby Kenmare.
We were members of Homelink some years ago and did home exchanges in Sweden, England and Ireland. We took a break from home exchanges for a few years but are looking forward to getting back to holidaying in this way again. We have exchanged recently on other home exchange sites.

Our home is located in a beautiful rural location, surrounded by sea, mountains woodland and river views. It is a Victorian building, built in the late 1800’s as a schoolmaster’s residence for the local Lansdowne Estate school. It also served as a post office up until 2017 and a summer cafe up until 2020. It was carefully renovated in 2012 to bring the house up to modern standards whilst maintaining the original character and features of the building. And as we live in modern times we have superfast fibre broadband and WiFi throughout the house. We have home exchanged on other sites recently.

We live in a beautiful, peaceful location close the the border between Cork & Kerry. We are within walking distance to Derreen Gardens and a short drive to lovely beaches and the famous Healy Pass. There are numerous walks and cycles in the area. Josie’s Restaurant and Helen’s Bar are also a short drive or cycle away. The heritage town of Kenmare with its many award winning cafes, restaurants and 5 star hotels is only 30 mins drive away.
The fishing port of Castletownbere is a 30 minute drive from our house, Dzogchen Beara Buddhist Centre is 40 minutes drive, as is Dursey Island cable car (Ireland's only cable car). Killarney National park is just over 40 mins away.
There are many opportunities for hillwalking in the area as well as plenty of choice for water activities. We are on the famous Beara Way walking route.
Star Sailing Water adventure Centre as well as the beautiful Gleninchiquin Park are on our doorstep.
The Ring of Beara is the more undiscovered sister of the Ring of Kerry and in our opinion is even more beautiful. Full of magnificent scenery with plenty to do it will tick all the boxes for a holiday in southern Ireland. Being within easy reach of both West Cork and The Ring of Kerry, Killarney and Dingle, we are the ideal location for touring or just staying put. Some websites for more information include,

Short walk to Derreen Gardens. Many archaeological sites - standing stones, ring forts, etc. within walking distance. Short drive to nearby restaurant and pub. Kenmare town is 30 minutes drive by car - many wonderful restaurants and shops. Castletownbere fishing port is 30 minutes drive also. Dzogchen Beara Buddhist Retreat Centre is 40minutes drive. Wonderful for a day visit.
