Our unpretentious house is a child-friendly detached house situated in La TESTE DE BUCH, a nice and quiet town close to the Atlantic sandy beaches and the vineyards of the southwest of France. We are less than an hour's drive from Bordeaux and about thirty minutes from the airport. There is a railway station in La Teste and the TGV commutes regularly to Bordeaux, especially in the summer period, and even to Paris. Many leisure activities are possible. The Arcachon bay is a lagoon located on the south-west Atlantic coast, which makes its lanscapes unique. Nice pine tree forests and many cycle tracks favour sports and relaxation. As we are now retired, we are flexible enough to agree on house exchanges at any moment of the year.

Our neighborhood is very quiet and our neighbours very nice and friendly. There are many restaurants in LaTeste and Arcachon, nice little ports with oyster farmers offering you to taste oysters with white wine, two golf pitches, football and rugby grounds within 5 kilometers. Regular electric buses commute between Arcachon and La Teste and a bus stop is very close to our house. A supermarket is also very close and a local market with local farmers takes place every thursday and in the week-end in the center of La Teste. The railway station is about 2 kilometers from our house and several trains a day allow you to go to Bordeaux very easily. (Bordeaux is about one hour from La Teste by train, and roughly the same by car but the traffic can be heavy in summer.

From our house you can go for walks or bike rides very easily. The Arcachon bay is about 5 kilometers. Many different water activities are possible there in sunny periods and cultural activities are regularly organised either in Arcachon or in La Teste, whatever the season.
