We are a family of 4 (plus 3 cute cats).
Janne (67) is an architect and worked in the municipality of Hørsholm – mainly with maintenance of the municipal buildings. Among her interests are ceramics, water colour and painting on silk.
Karsten (65) studied history and social sciences and works with IT consulting and project managing. He plays jazz guitar and likes computers, fishing, good books and good food.
Fie Marie (32), lives in Copenhagen, studied Medialogy (games design and new media) at Aalborg University in Copenhagen and works with Quality Management in a software company. She’s into science fiction, manga comics, drawing and storytelling.
Jeppe (31), lives in Copenhagen, studied Electronic Engineering at Technical University of Denmark and works with software in Copenhagen. He is very fond of computers and games and spends as much time as possible playing them.
Since our first home exchange in 2006 we have absolutely loved it and will most likely be exchanging for ever. The "young" ones are still joining us on holidays and love swapping homes.

HAVE EXCHANGE SUMMER 2024
Lovely house situated in Hørsholm in the middle of everything, 20 min by car or train to the centre of Copenhagen.
Our house is situated in a quiet residential and safe area of Hørsholm, roughly 0,5-1 km. to shopping, 0,5 km. to forest, 1,5 km. to the train station and 2,5 km. to the beach and marina in Rungsted.
The house is around 140 m2. The original part of the house was built in 1943 and in 2003 we added two more rooms to the house, a glass living / dining room connected to the open kitchen and a large parental bedroom / study. At the same time, we made a bed loft in connection to one of the children’s room. In the basement we have an extra bedroom and shower / laundry facilities. We have a nice big garden (1200 m²), with a small wooden summer cottage (10 m²), a trampoline and a greenhouse.

Hørsholm has fine restaurants and cafés on its own, and during summer, the marina in Rungsted is especially nice to visit. During the long warm evenings of the Scandinavian summer, it can sometimes be difficult to get back from the beach.
Copenhagen is not a very big capital and many consider it one of the cosiest in Europe. There is certainly a lot to see, from Tivoli to the Royal Opera, many museums, shopping and plenty of restaurants and cafés.
North of Hørsholm you will find Helsingør with the Kronborg Castle and the museum of contemporary art in Humlebæk, the Lousiana, definitely also worth a visit.
