We live in a house that was built during the thirties, but it has been renovated 2016. Only 15' away from the vibrant centre of Ghent by bike or tram. Ghent has just recently been elected as 7th on the list of ten cities in the world that one should visit (Lonely Planet) and we agree ;).
There is plenty to do in this both historical and young city: there are lots of cultural activities, nice museums, a big festival in summer with free concerts and a free street-theatre festival, there are plenty of nice little bars and restaurants, we live only 10 minutes from a nice natural reserve. We can definitely recommend the medieval castle, a boat tour, a walk in the natural reserve and a stop at one of the nice cafes which sell great pie.
And other than that, we only live half an hour away from the northsea with sand beaches, Bruges, Brussels, Antwerp, or you could even think of a day-trip to Paris or Amsterdam.
