We are recently retired, active, young at heart couple feeling late 40-50's. We have adult children who do not live at home. We are outdoorsy, keen on golf, kayaking, snow skiing, bike riding, camping and bush walking. Geoff also does scuba-diving and paragliding.
If we are not outdoors we pursue our hobbies and projects. These are wide ranging and include learning French and photography, building furniture, reading, listening to music (jazz, reggae and Spanish guitar are our favorites for now) and socialising with family and friends.
We are both university educated professional (Engineering, IT and Business Management). We are non-smokers, responsible, reliable, tidy, careful and environmentally conscious couple (we will turn the light off, conserve water and recycle waste). We are well travelled, which helped us to become tolerant, open-minded, non-judgmental type of folks. We would like to travel extensively for at least next several years and use house swaps to do spending a reasonable amount of time in a few places.

We have large two story, two and a half year old modern house. It has double remote control garage and an enclosed rear garden as well as undercover paved patio with an outdoor table for 8 people.
Upstairs:
All bedrooms are located upstairs and all have have Walk In Robes with plenty of storage space. Two of the bedrooms have TV sets, in addition to the main TV in the lounge area. The main bedroom is separated from other bedrooms by a long hall and an open lounge area that we are using as our office work space. The main bedroom has an ensuite, the other bedrooms share the central bathroom. Three of the bedrooms have double beds and one has a single bed.
Downstairs: open living plan with plenty of natural light. The lounge area is adjacent to informal dining which opens to the undercover patio area and the enclosed garden. The kitchen is large, well equipped with a walk in pantry. There is also a formal dining room, which can be converted into a bedroom if someone is unable to use the stairs. There is also one bathroom downstairs and a large laundry with an extra fridge.

Manly is a small bayside suburb of Brisbane. It is located on a foreshore of the picturesque Morton Bay. It is a 5 minute walk from our place to the train to Brisbane City and South Bank (Brisbane leading tourist hot spot). The trip takes about 35 minutes.if you choose to drive it will take you about 25 minutes in off peak times.
We are ideally placed to access the Gateway Freeway (M1) to make day trips to the Gold Coast and its many attractions (50 minutes by car one way) and the Sunshine Coast (90 minutes by car one way). The Gold Coast will host the Commonwealth Game in April 2018.
You can also catch a ferry (10 minutes drive to the ferry terminal) to explore Moreton Island or to scuba dive the local wrecks. There are also boats departing from Manly Harbour to the local diving spots.

Local attractions:
THE ESPLANADE
It takes 15 min walk from our place to the foreshore "The Esplanade" which runs for about 6 km along the bay in this area.It is great place to walk or cycle. At the Wynnum (adjacent suburb) end of The Espanade" you can access "boardwalk" and explore local wetlands and birdlife.
Sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, jet-skiing,fishing and scubadiving are the main attractions in our area. There is plenty to do for the kids in the local wading pool, swimming pool, water park and many playgrounds.
MANY HARBOUR VILLAGE
Make your way to Cambridge Parade (10 min walk from our place) to have a nice coffee, lunch or dinner and look over a marina full of magnificent yachts. If you into live music venues, the local Irish pub maybe the place to check out. There is also a number of boutiques specialty shops, chemist, Post Office and supermarket. Out Manly village has relaxed, friendly and holiday like atmosphere all year round.

Our comfortable house has a true holiday feeling, but still only 5 minutes walk from suburban train.
It is located on a quiet street, 15 minutes walk to Manly foreshore
Our house is very clean, uncluttered, extremely well maintained and environmentally friendly.
