Our house is a 15 minute bike ride away from National Park De Oostvaardersplassen. An unique wetlands area where you can see wild horses, spot many different wetland birds and go on a safari if you like. There are several beautiful nature centers with great in- and outdoor cafe facilities overlooking nature. Public transport can also take you there, in fact, it takes you anywhere as busses and trains come and go.

Facilities are abundant in Almere. You can explore our many waterways by kayak, go sailing, rent a motorboat or even go waterskiing. We have an indoor trampoline center, a huge city mall for shopaholics, 30 minutes to a world class amusement park (https://www.walibi.nl/nl), and it's only a short trainride (30 minutes) to downtown Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport or Utrecht. Our province is Flevoland, which has been completely claimed from the sea, is a feat of human engineering to behold.
