Our villa is located in a quiet and green area in a small town of 10000 inhabitants 12 km north of the beautiful, thriving city of Montpellier, about 25 km from the Mediterranean sea, further north lies the Cévennes National Park. From here you can discover stunning landscapes, lots of medieval villages, all sorts of festivals, wine-tasting cellars, museums, traces of a Roman past, a chemin de Compostelle, churches of Romanesque Art , water-jousts...... You can bathe in the cool water of the river Hérault or go canoeing or kayaking.
Our house is NOT SUITABLE for people with walking difficulties as we have a lot of STAIRS and for YOUNG CHILDREN because the garden is very STEEP in places and the access to the swimming pool is not protected.

Our neighbourhood is quiet, sometimes a bit less in summer as all the houses have a swimming-pool, we are about 1.4 km from the centre. In ST G. there are 2 supermarkets, a cinema, shops, a golf course, many foot paths .. in the town centre you will find a market on Saturday morning and a smaller one on Thursday morning.I must say, at the moment, new houses are being built very near , those who work there will probably be on holidays the first 3 weeks of August.

From our house you can take walks, .walk to the centre, have a drink at the bar l'Affenage, do your shopping.There's a cinema in St Gély.
If you don't want to drive to Montpellier you can take the bus to the tramway station Occitanie then the tram will take you to the town centre of Montpellier: Place de la Comédie, the Fabre muséum, le Polygone big shopping centre, the tourist office... and to different places of course. In Montpellier we also like The Musée d'Art Brut.
The sea is about 22 kilometres from home : Palavas, Carnon..Further La grande Motte, Aigues Mortes, La Camarge, Le Pont de Gau ( ornithological park) Arles.In the east Sète.
In the north, 6 km from here you can visit the small medieval village of the Matelles, its museum then in Claret there is a Glass Museum ( unique site in France).
We are in the Pic Saint Loup famous for its wine so there is plenty of good wine tasting to do all year round even in ST G at Chemin des Rêves!

It is important that we find our house neat and tidy when we get back. ALWAYS USE A BOARD when you CUT bread, meat ... ON THE KITCHEN TABLE or the WORK-TOP.
Nous souhaitons retrouver la maison propre. TOUJOURS COUPER le pain, la viande etc.. sur une PLANCHE A DECOUPER , le matériau de la TABLE DE CUISINE et DU PLAN DE TRAVAIL est fragile.
