Das Doppelhaus liegt in einer sehr angenehmen Umgebung - super zentral an die Autobahn angeschlossen und trotzdem sind Wald und Wiesen fußläufig zu erreichen. Das ganze Areal, eine alte amerikanische Kaserne, wird gerade neu erschlossen, das ist städtebaulich spannend. Halloween war ein Higlight. Die Umgebung bietet zahlreiche kulturelle Sehenswürdigkeiten (Heidelberg, Speyer, Sinsheim, Weingegend), für die eine Woche nicht gereicht hat. Das Haus ist modern, funktional und aufgeräumt. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

A great home from which to explore the area
The home of Claudia and Claudius (and family) is modern, bright, and spacious and had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the use of their bicycles to explore the wonderful bike paths both behind their house (woods) and connecting to nearby villages (Ladenburg, Weinheim, Dossenheim, Schreisheim). We traveled to Heidelberg (both by car and train) several times and took day trips to Bad Dürkeim and Neustadt for great hikes. We enjoyed visiting the city of Mannheim (Technoseum, Baroque Castle, BUGA, Historic Water Tower and Rose gardens) as well. Claudius and Claudia were excellent communicators and were very responsive during our stay. The videos they created to explain how to use their appliances were extremely helpful. This was a wonderful first reciprocal exchange for us!
Beautiful house
We liked the house very much. It is located in the most beautiful surroundings of Mannheim, near a wood. The Kultur Haus museum is a highlight as well as the Luisenpark. We also liked the baroque castle. We visited Michelstadt, Speyer and Heidelberg. I liked the view from Köningstuhl in Heidelberg. Due to knee problems of my friend Liliane, we could not go hiking in Odenwald, but we did a car trip. I can imagine that there are a lot of possibilities to go hiking. We liked the terrace restaurant at the Strandbad. After 2 weeks, we were satisfied and went home to the 'normal' rythm. Thanks for the nice holiday !
We felt very much at home
The apartment was great, and we enjoyed our stay very much. The apartment is located in a beautiful part of Mannheim with easy access to the Rhine River and the city, and is a good base for excursions in the surrounding area.
Gemütliche Wohnung in zentraler Lage
Wir haben eine Woche in Mannheim verbracht. Ursprünglich führte uns ein Familienbesuch in diese Stadt, aber auch ohne Familienanschluss haben wir den Aufenthalt in Mannheim sehr genossen. Ganz herzlichen Dank dafür! Die Wohnung war perfekt für uns vorbereitet, es gab ausreichend Platz auch für unsere drei Kinder, nette Nachbarn und die zentrale Lage macht zahlreiche Ausflüge sowohl in der Stadt als auch in die Umgebung möglich (auch ohne Auto). Wir haben einen Tag im schönen und kindgerechten Luisenpark verbracht, ein Schwimmbad (Hallenbad) ist in Laufweite, auch Ausflüge nach Mainz und Heidelberg standen auf dem Programm - von Mannheim aus ist wirklich alles schnell erreicht. Wir können einen Tausch sehr empfehlen!
Holidays should be like this: take you away from y
My holiday at Claudius and Claudia's was like that. A change from a house in a village in the countryside to a two-floor flat in a big city. I left my car at home, travelled to Mannheim by bus ( very cheap fares) and, once there, used the very convenient public transport system : trams, buses, trains... I hardly ever use public transport! I visited a lot of interesting places: Mannheim, of course, which has plenty to offer and the beautiful Heidelberg ( very close ) and also a good number of lovely towns in the neighbourhood, Weinheim, Worms, Speyer... Being on my own, I enjoyed watching TV in the evening on the home cinema. Here, all my neighbours agreed to say that Claudius and Claudia had been exceptionally friendly to them. Indeed, a very nice family to exchange with!

Heitz home is an oasys in the middle of the city. We felt really confortable at their house and that help us to fully enjoy the exchange. Specially appreciate the recommendations on where to have a bath (gourgeous lake near the house) and also Mannheim Park. Great! Totally recommendable!
Belle région et appartement duplex spacieux
On a beaucoup aimé notre séjour à Mannheim! L'appartement était propre, spacieux et confortable. Au début on devait nous habituer à vivre sans micro-ondes mais cela ne nous a pas empêché de cuisiner chaque jour. Pour nous c'était un vrai luxe que la famille Heitz a un enfant de l'âge de notre fils: tout était disponible: le lit de bébé, le parque, les jouets, un coussin d'allaitement, les ustensiles de cuisine (les assiettes en plastiques, les goblets,...). La ville de Mannheim offre un peu de tout: la récréation au bord du Rhin, le 'Luizenpark' (un parque énorme avec beaucoup de fleurs, de différents animaux, une gamme élaborée de terrains de jeux, des activités dépendant du saison,...), le centre avec ses nombreux magasins, le château style Versailles,... . On a aussi passé quelques jours dans la Forêt Noire. La région est magnifique: on a vu des cascades impressionnants à Allerheiligen et on a fait de belles randonnées à Bad Herrenalb. On conseille d'échanger avec cette famille!
