We have lived in the Central Coast region of California since 2007 and love it! Larry is a clinical psychologist in private practice. Amalia is a native Peruvian and worked for many years as an outdoor adventure guide in the Andes and the Amazon. After several years working as a teacher's aide in the public schools, in recent years she has returned to studying and teaching Andean traditions, ceremonies and spirituality (including giving online classes in Quechua, the primary native language of Peru). Our son, Noah, is 19 and is studying mathematics at the University of California at Santa Barbara. We enjoy hiking, traveling, cycling, and gardening. We have enjoyed several home exchanges through Homelink since joining in 2004.

I nostri consigli su cosa non perdere in questa zona
Our home is at the base of beautiful Bishop's Peak, the highest peak in the area (about 1500 ft.) with a moderately steep trail that takes you to the top and a spectacular view in about an hour. We're a twenty-minute walk to a commercial center with a variety of stores, cafes, and restaurants, and about 2-1/2 miles from downtown SLO, with even more of the same. Cal Poly State University is about 1-1/2 miles from the house. Within a 15-20 minute drive are many beautiful beaches, kayak and paddleboard rentals, fishing and whale-watching excursions. Also within the same radius are many hiking and biking trails. We are in the middle of wine country, with dozens of local wineries and tasting rooms; and San Luis Obispo is becoming famous for its many local craft beer breweries. A little further away (1-3 hours) are Santa Barbara to the south, and Hearst Castle, Big Sur, and the San Simeon elephant seal colony. SLO also has a thriving nightlife, with many bars and clubs, live music venues, &c
