Thank you Tom and Aura for the use of your lovely apartment, your warm welcome and ensuring we had everything needed. After four days of driving and a 2 hour wait in the heat of the afternoon at the border, we really appreciated having a 'home' to enjoy. There are many good places to eat including Thai, Italian and Mexican within easy walking distance. We took your advice and ate at DZ Atkins a short drive away. It was so good we bought and froze a large order of cabbage rolls to bring home! The dry ice cost more than the food, but they stayed frozen solid all the way back to Baja. I highly recommend this exchange if you want to to be in a neighborhood with great food, play in San Diego and explore Balboa Park, the zoo and the beaches, the many museums or roam through the historic areas. It's perfect!
