We are an active retired couple who split our time between the UK, France and our travels. We usually undertake a long-haul trip to the US/Canada or NZ/Oz every two years. We have had 2 exchanges so far, both of which have exceeded our expectations. We do our utmost to ensure those who exchange with us find a well-equpped, comfortable and welcoming home which will enable them to enjoy our part of France as much as we do.

Our house is a single storey, traditional property built out of pale golden stone, with extensive barns and outbuildings and a medieval well, sitting in its own parkland of around 2 hectares of fields, orchard and gardens. It is on one of the Compostela pilgrimage routes, within walking distance of the ancient market town of Condom (1.5kms) which has a population of around 8,000 and amenities including an outdoor swimming pool, market, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, cafes, cinema, theatre, river port and beautiful 12thc cathedral. The area is beautiful and very rural with little villages and bastides (hilltop villages) dotted throughout rolling, well-farmed countryside and woods. Almost all villages will have a restaurant ranging from very simple to sophisticated food. The climate is pleasant throughout the year, around 20/22 degrees in spring and autumn rising to the high 20's/30's in July and August. Winter can be cold during the night but generally warms up during the day

Our neighbourhood is quiet, rural France in beautiful countryside of rolling hills, vineyards and sunflowers. It is a little bit of forgotten France, with friendly people, good food and tranquillity yet within walking distance of a sizeable town and driving distance of the regional cities of Agen or Auch.

I nostri consigli su cosa non perdere in questa zona
Our house is about 2 kms from Condom - a 20-minute walk or 3 minute drive. Condom has all the facilities required for day-to-day living and enough restaurants and cafes to fill every day of the week. There are 5 or 6 beautiful villages within 20 minutes driving, each with its own charm, restaurants and cafes. Picnic sites abound and lots of opportunities for walking or cycling. For more sophisticated entertainment or shopping, a minimum 40 minute drive is required.

- Main shopping towns and Agen and Auch, both of which are about 35 kms away. They are commercial cities and have the full range of shops and leisure activities.
- Toulouse and Bordeaux are major cities and are both connected by rail from Agen or by the motorway - travel time around 2.5 hours.
- Paris is about 4-5 hours by fast train from Agen.
Divertimenti ed attività culturali
- July and August are the main months for village festivals and celebrations.
- In the summer, Condom has an evening concert in the Cathedral, followed by street food and market stalls.
- Condom, Eauze, Lectoure, Fleurance all have a daily market.
Percorsi pedonali
- There are numerous cycle and walking paths through forests, along disused railway lines and along canals. Full details are held in our house. There is a local walking club which has full day walks on Sundays and half days on Tuesdays.
Gite interessanti da fare in giornata
- For a long trip, Spain, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic can be reached in 3-4 hours.
- Lots of little bastide towns with fetes, restaurants and beautiful architecture.
- Two or three Roman archeological sites and several museums with a half hour's drive.

We would always treat our host's house as we would our own and we would hope those who spend time in our own home would do the same. We undertake the exchange as a guest and value the opportunity we have to share our host's home and experiences.
