We were very lucky to complete a house exchange with the Mattisons in Beckenham, near London. The house is large and comfortable, with an impressive back yard. A very large park is just across the street. All the basic shops are very close to the house. It only needs a short walk and a 20-minute train ride to be in the center of London, where we can visit awsome art galeries, museums, parks, cathedrals, theaters, etc. Moreover, we enjoyed a short stay in Dublin, Ireland as part of the exchange. Thank you so much!

Main house is large family home in select, quiet road which is part of conservation area in wealthy, leafy suburb of London. Built 1912 and officially listed as having architectural merit (Arts & Crafts movement)Big, private garden - patio, lawns, fruit trees etc. Opposite beautiful park and with shops, supermarkets, sports facilities, numerous restaurants and bars, cinemas and churches all within easy walking distance. Easy journey to Central London by train. 20 mins to Victoria (near Buckingham Palace/Westminster and other tourist sites). Also great spot from which to visit beautiful countryside of Kent, Sussex and Surrey and historic sites such as Canterbury Cathedral, Chartwell (Winston Churchill's home), Hever Castle, Penshurst Place and Leeds Castle.

Spacious 4 bedroom house in Central Dublin also available as part of the exchange. This is in a quiet road in the fashionable Donnybrook area near Dublin Horse showground and only 20 mins walk from St Stephen's Green. Excellent bus services to tourist sites.

Up market suburb which is famous in South London for its range of lively and excellent restaurants, cafes and bars. It is based on a traditional village high street which is within 5 minutes walk from the house. Characterful churches, beautiful parks and gardens and plenty of sports activities - tennis, golf, swimming, gym - and a multi-screen cinema. Easy access by rail (20 minutes) to central London with all its tourist attractions. Four supermarkets within 10 minutes walk. Theatres and more shopping in nearby Bromley and Croydon. And access by road or rail to rural beauty of Kent - the "Garden of England" - and Sussex. You should never be bored, whatever your age!

I nostri consigli su cosa non perdere in questa zona

Beckenham is centred on an old village high street so all facilities are within 10 minutes walking distance of our house - restaurants, bars, cinema, churches, public indoor swimming pool, parks and gardens. Also railway station, where trains take 20/25 minutes to reach Victoria station in central London which provides ready access to all the tourist sites of London. Our house is also right opposite Kelsey Park, which is regarded as one of the most attractive in South London. Manor Way is often described by estate agents as Beckenham's premier road, because of the quality of the properties and its convenient and attractive location.

Europe: Denmark (Copenhagen), Austria, Switzerland, France, Sweden but open to other offers. Timing preferably 2/3 weeks in late August/September 2018.
House rules - no smoking and no visiting pets. Good time to visit UK with sterling value so low!
