We are located in one of the "small town-village type" communities which border Portland City. Our community and Lake Oswego, which borders it, sit on the Willamette River and date back into the mid-1800's and in the past 30 years have grown extensively with the addition of both moderate and up-scale developments. Local grocery shopping (3 mkts) and all the other necessary service facilities are located closeby within 1-1.5 miles. There are an abundance of hiking paths, small & large parks, sidewalks. We sit in the highest area of the community which was primarily farmland 30-40 years ago. In fact, there are still farms and fields in the area. Our house is part of a neighborhood which includes a community pool and tennis court area. It is a 20 minute drive into Portland City Center, however, you can take advantage of the excellent metro bus service which goes into the city and connects with the light rail transit system. We are 5 minutes away from the Interstate Hwy I205-I5 which provides access to Southern, Oregon as well as Portland and Washington State.
