I am retired from the State of Nevada, had a British partner so moved to England. However, when the grandkids started coming, I felt I needed to be there and am so glad I made the move. Austin, Texas is growing by leaps and bounds and I think the traffic has doubled since I've been here (2008)! I used to hike a lot in the mountains surrounding Las Vegas (Nevada) but only marginally in the Austin area. (Can't escape the heat or humidity here!) I discovered when I gutted my house that I actually liked participating in the remodeling process (and even all the design changes!). I am also a passionate gardener, a volunteer usher at a theatre here (Zach) that has professional plays, and a volunteer at the South Austin Senior Center where I take yoga 3 times a week and helped set up the Community Garden a few years ago as a prototype for the City. I also work part-time at a Performing Arts Center (check it out: www.http://thelongcenter.org), which is the most fun job I've ever had!
