We are retired and have 3 grown up children and 3 grandchildren. We live in Aston Tirrold but lived in Australia for many years and 2 of our children live in Australia. We enjoy living in the countryside, walking, gardening, cycling and playing golf but also like to make the most of other attractions, such as galleries, concerts, theatre and museums in Oxford and other nearby towns. We also really enjoy travelling in Europe and are keen to spend several months a year visiting family in Australia.

Converted school house in small Oxfordshire village. Detached, 3 bedrooms, large living room (was school room), study, modern eat-in kitchen, two bathrooms and downstairs toilet. Kitchen and bathrooms recently renovated but home retains character.

Our small village is in an area of outstanding beauty. The pub is being refurbished and will reopen in September with a gourmet restaurant. In the next village, Blewbury, about a mile away, there are 2 pubs, a shop, post office, petrol station and garden centre/cafe. There are many local walks and quiet roads to cycle, plus easy access to the Thames Path, Ridgeway and Berkshire Downs. Oxford is a short drive away and there are trains from Didcot (4 miles away) to London, Oxford, Bath, Bristol, the Cotswolds and South Wales. The M4 and M40 can be easily accessed by car. Wallingford, a pretty market town situated on the Thames is 3.5 miles away and there is a modern shopping centre in Didcot. The village provides an excellent base to explore the south of England, including the Cotswolds, Oxford, Stratford on
Avon, the Thames Valley and the Chilterns.

I nostri consigli su cosa non perdere in questa zona
Our village is very quiet and peaceful. There is a weekly cafe and post office and the pub/ restaurant will reopen in September. There are lovely local walks and longer walks along the Thames and on the Berkshire Downs. The next village, Blewbury, is a mile away and has a shop, petrol station, post office, garden centre and cafe. There are two towns nearby - Wallingford on the Thames which is a pretty market town and Didcot, with a modern shopping centre, cinema and railway station with trains to London, Oxford, Bath, Wales and the Cotswolds. We enjoy going into Oxford for plays, concerts and museums and also go to London quite often to visit family and friends. The train to London takes about 40 minutes. There are 3 National Trust properties in the area and other parks, gardens etc to visit. Henley on Thames is a lovely old town on the Thames which is 10 miles away and has cinema, theatre, nice restaurants and the Rowing museum.
