The Gooi & Vecht area is a rich oasis of space and nature, unique waters and historical highlights within a stone's throw of the cities of Amsterdam, Utrecht and Almere. Gooi & Vecht is nicknamed the Garden of Amsterdam, or Castles and Gardens region, for a reason. In this area, within a short distance from each other, you’ll find the river Vecht, which is indisputably Holland’s most beautiful river, the lively Loosdrecht Lakes, the scenic Naarder Lake, the stately old estates in ’s-Graveland and the Gooi Nature Reserve’s extensive heathlands and forests. Than you shouldn't miss out on the strongholds and fortified towns of Naarden, Muiden, Bussum and Weesp, some of which are part of Unesco’s World Heritage.
