We are living in a house in Haren near a lake so you can enjoy the water possibilities. Groningen, located next to Haren, is a historical and lively city mostly known for its university and the worldfamous Mendini museum. The city has been linked as the perfect alternative to Amsterdam for someone who wants a less touristic city but with the typical dutch life. In 1 hour you can drive to the UNESCO world heritage nature reserve, the waddensea and sandy beaches. In the forests of Drenthe you can can take many bike or walking routes. Furthermore, Amsterdam is a 2 hour drive by car or train (Haren has a train station!). Groningen also has an airport (5 km).
