Super house in a perfect location.
Our exchange with the Balemans family was a great success in all respects. It was an excellent location for exploring Utrecht with canoes & bicycles available to borrow which we did! The railway system is super efficient & we were in easy reach of Amsterdam and other cities. The house had everything we needed & the family were very welcoming.

No exchanges for the coming year (2020-2021), we are looking for an exchange for summer 2021. For now, we are redecorating and two of our kids are doing their final exams this year, so study is paramount! Please note that we have a large house, we can sleep up to 12 people, but... we do have a large family and though their ages range from 15 to 23 they still like to join us for the holiday. So please offers only that will accomodate 8 people.
Lovely historic townhouse in the heart of Holland, with many of the authentic features on our doorstep to be enjoyed. Beautiful high ceilings, light airy rooms and colourful interior, with a modern twist. Most rooms have been redecorated recently.
Utrecht is a beautiful and compact city, many sights are within walking or cycling distance. You can have a great time visiting up to ten museums, well suited for both children and adults. There is the Dom church and tower,a beautiful gothic cathedral. Climbing the tower (over a 100 metres!) gives a magnificent view over Utrecht. We have the Museum van Speelklok tot Pierement, showing wonderful tiny music boxes and awe-inspiring enormous music-hall organs. The Catharijne-convent shows religious art and is nominated for best European museum. You can take a look underground the Domsquare, Domunder, also a prizewinning sight. Our exchange families so far have very much enjoyed the house, our canoe and our rowing boat, they loved Utrecht and the Netherlands. We cannot promise you great weather but a very warm welcome awaits you.
We are looking for an exchange with people who are ok with us taking our youngest well trained dog and are willing to take care of our very well behaved eldest dog , they are both wonderful and the eldest has been a firm favourite with our exchange families, some of them were very keen on taking him home.. If that is not an option, then we'll work something out for them. We also have two friendly outdoor guinea pigs and one chicken.
We have 6 bikes. Utrecht is also close to wonderful nature, fields, forests or lakes. Within 70 minutes you can be by the seaside.
We would love to hear from you, I am rooting for a lovely UK or Danish exchange, make me happy... but a lovely French, exchange would be nice too, surprise us. Not too far we always travel by car, as transport for a family of eigth can be quite costly.

We live in a lively, but not too busy area of Utrecht. Our house overlooks a stream and is close to parks. We live close to many of the museums in Utrecht, some in walking distance, all in cycling distance!

We are always very careful with other people's homes and expect our exchangers to be so too. We will leave our home lovely clean and tidy and would like it returned in the same way. No smoking allowed. We will leave toiletpaper and cleaning products for you to use, no need to replace them. And (unless you let us know you do not want us to) we will leave some groceries so you don't have to go to the supermarket on arrival.
