We are a retired couple, both previously social workers, who have enjoyed very successful exchanges in Kendal, GB, Prague, Czech Rep, Ledesma, Spain and Sevilla, Spain
We are looking for an exchange for 2019, either spring (May-June) or fall (September-October). We would consider an exchange during the summer in the more northerly parts of Europe. As grandparents we have toys appropriate for younger children as well as a carseat and car booster seat, if needed.
Our neighbourhood has abundant shopping and eating opportunities, provides easy access to downtown (1/2 hour walk, quick bus ride), is treed, and is very close to the Rideau Canal with its walking and bicycle paths.

Spacious home in beautiful family neighbourhood 1blk to Rideau Canal bike/ walking paths shops & restaurants. From our home you can walk or cycle to Parliament Hill, galleries, museums, the Experimental Farm and Dow's Lake---even across the Ottawa R. to Gatineau Park in the province of Quebec (hiking,cycling,swimming,canoeing). We have bicycles for exchangers' use. We are 2 hours from exciting Montreal, 4.5 hours from Toronto and 5 hours from historic Quebec City. For more about Ottawa, see ottawatourism.ca.
Our "house book" has recommendations and information about nearby restaurants, coffee shops, shopping and attractions and activities.
Photos show main floor only. There is a large bedroom in the finished lower level, as well as a play room, full bathroom with shower, and laundry room. Although we are retired, we are grandparents and have some toys, games and books for young children.

From our home it is one block to the newly developed Lansdowne Park with cinemas, stadium and ice skating arena for professional sports, children's playground, skateboard park, bars, restaurants, liquor store, Sunday Farmers' Market etc. We are one block from the Rideau Canal and its bike/ walking paths on either side and a short block to Bank St. with its shops, cafés & restaurants. From our central location you can walk or cycle to Parliament Hill, galleries, museums, the Experimental Farm and Dow's Lake. Across the Ottawa River in Quebec you can visit the vast Gatineau Park for hiking, cycling, swimming, canoeing and camping.

We have a canoe and bicycles for exchangers' use. From our home, it is a 2 hour drive to exciting Montreal, 5 hours to historic Quebec City, 1 hr to the US border, 8 hours to New York City 4.5 hours to Toronto and 6 hours to Niagara Falls.
