Our 1960’s neighborhood is comprised of large, spacious lots, tall cedar, hemlock and Douglas Fir trees and flower gardens. Our home backs onto a green belt which affords privacy and a view. Grocery shopping and cafés are within a ten minute drive. Abbotsford is known as a « city in the country ». It is situated in the middle of the Fraser Valley 3 km north of the border with Washington State and it extends from west to east for150 km. (from Vancouver to narrow at Hope, B.C.) The Fraser Valley is a road (paved country roads) and mountain biker’s paradise. There is also a well developed regional park system featuring many walking/jogging/cycling trails.
In winter, alpine and nordic skiing are available within a 1.5 hour drive at Manning Provincial Park and Sasquatch Mountain Resort as well as at Mt. Baker in Washington State, U.S.A. Whistler B.C. is a 2.5 hour drive from our home. Raspberry and blueberry farms abound in the Fraser Valley and the popular Abbotsford Farmer’s Market every Saturday morning from May to October provides opportunities to buy local fresh produce, craft beer and artisan crafts.
