Chieti is a nice town in the Abruzzo region, up on a hill(330 meters above sea level), 15km far from the Adriatic Sea and about 23km from the Majella Mountain.It is older than Rome-some ruins are still visible.
80 sqm large apartment, at less than 10' walking distance from downtown. Suitable for 4 people: 2 large bedrooms(1 double and 1 with a pull out 2 single beds - anyway,the sofa in the sitting room can be opened and provide an extra double bed if necessary), 1 sitting room, 1 dining room + 1 well equipped kitchenette, 1 bathroom with shower, 2 balconies (both very sunny, - not very large but enough to allow you to enjoy the sun on a deckchair, with awning. Very easy, but confortable flat, full of sunlight.Wireless. Most shops are within few meters:baker, butcher, greengrocer, laundry, chemist, pizza's, take away,tobacconist... The town can be visited just walking around, no car needed, anyway bus stops are at no more than 30mt distance from the building. Nearby are also bus stops to Rome (2 hours)and Florence (5 hours-I used to take it twice a month when working there, the trip is very nice with amazing views on the Appennini mountains.
If you want to spend the day on a sandy beach(the nearest is Francavilla a Mare) without using the car, there are plenty of buses. If you like to visit the many typical villages in nearby mountains, buses or train are at easy reach.

The nearest airport (20' far away ) is "Liberi" in the suburb area Chieti-Pescara, well served by buses (very cheap-less than 2 euros for a trip of 90 minutes -it takes about 30 minutes to reach my flat). Train station to Rome or Naples is 10' far away, train station to Venice or Milan is in Pescara, just 20'far by bus.
