HOUSE:

Sunny home with free view over a protected natural area. Near sea and dunes (<5 km) and Amsterdam (45 km). We have four bedrooms. Two beds for one person and one bed for two.

At the end of the garden there is a pond with frogs and ducks. In front of the house you will find a bicycle route that was elected the most beautiful route of the Netherlands. At the other side of the house you will find a grass playing field. The beach is 5 km, 5 min by car and 15-20 min by bike.

VILLAGE:
Bergen is a nice village that attracted artists at the beginning of the 20e century. It has a historic centre with the remnants of a medieval church. There are also museums, a golf course, restaurants and shops.

Just from our home you can make fantastic trips around. The dune area is magnificent. The sea (<5 km) always makes happy. The city Alkmaar (<5 km) has a historic centre with 17e century houses. Take a boat to see the houses from the water. Amsterdam (a museum by itself) is 35 min. by train (from Alkmaar) and 40 km by car. In Alkmaar is a big swimming pool. Bergen has a smaller one. In Bergen aan Zee - next to the coastline - you can visit a Sea Aquarium.

WE:
We are a family of four; Paul (1957), Sandra (1964), Max (1998) and Noor (1999). Our children come home sometime. They study in Amsterdam and Brussel. We have two lovely cats: Mira (2010) and Lo Tengo (2019). Sandra studied political science and now works at a museum. Paul is a historian and works as journalist. We love (Asian) cooking (and eating), sports, art, yoga, nature, walking at the beach, making bicycle trips, music, reading and caressing our cats.
