We are a happy-50 couple living in the countryside by choice. Anne is a French payroll expert and a manager in her HR support firm from Paris, and she can talk for hours of the French payroll laws! Patrick is a Sr Program Manager in an automotive Tier 1 supplier. We have both traveled extensively and lived in Germany, Switzerland, United States on top of France. Both are educated engineers from a Lyons school. Patrick also went to IIT Chicago for a couple of years after his French Engineer Diploma.
We are bons vivants, enjoy French but also other cultures cuisine, both in restaurants and cooking ourselves at home, and are quite partial to French wines especially from our Loire Valley which hides lovely gems.
Skiing, hiking, travelling, yoga are some hobbies of ours, when family and work leave us some time!
We both have children from previous marriages, whom we love to welcome in our big house!

Old Renovated "Fermette" on the Loire River near Orléans, with incredible French Country charm. Within driving distance of all the Loire Valley castles and many other interesting places, and a welcoming garden for cosy evenings after your visits. Also a great start spot for bike rides along the Loire and inside the Forêt d'Orléans, and of course your base for a 1-day trip to Paris by 1-hour train ride, car parking pass at the Orléans station included!
The house is 2-floor as you can see on the pictures, 2 Master bedrooms and 2 other bedrooms, with big garage.
We have wifi and CPL Internet, Washing machines (2) and dryer, dishwasher, gas stove and quite well equipped kitchen, including full Master Kenwood robot, a professional juicer and just as professional, a coffee grinder and a coffee machine as in a French, Italian etc. bar. Will be at your disposal with instructions. :) We have a portable air-conditionning unit for real hot days, though this happens only a few days, some summers.
TV is also present, even if we don't use it often with basic french cable (over internet).
The 3000 m2 garden is filled with trees, you may be lucky enough to pick some cherries, apples, pears or even peaches depending on the time of summer! The rear is overlooking fields, and the front is the best place for apéro, bbq, or simply eating outside. In the summer, tree shade is sometimes welcome, and we have a LED sun-umbrella for late evenings in the garden.

We are situated in a small village of the vicinity of Orléans, a city that is 100 km south of Paris as the crow flies. The house in on the verge of agricultural fields, and has an obstructed view over the old Loire Valley sediments plain. Obviously it is a very quiet area, only birds will remind you of their presence, and also the itinerant butcher who will honk on Fridays to bring you service at our tailgate. Everywhere you can walk and bike ride, and the boulangerie (bakery with bread of course) is 3 mn away by foot. A real joy every morning is to have baguette, croissants and (or :) pains au chocolats. It will even serve as emergency apéro help (wine, terrines and apéro breads), or lat minute milk point.
The village, being small, only has the bakery as open street shop, but you can also go buy fruit (apples, pears, and a few selected vegetables from around) at the Sigloy Orchard, and Loire fish delicacies and terrines at the Pêcheurs de Loire nearby.

I nostri consigli su cosa non perdere in questa zona
The obvious and unmissable objective are the Loire Valley Castles, located between 30km and all the way to Angers 3 hours away. We will not list them all here, but within a day you can visit as many as 3 castles from our place, of course in a tight run! More practically, quite a few of the greatest castles are within 1h driving distance, like Cheverny, Chateaudun, Blois, and the magnificent Chambord. Choose your timing and castle(s) is our best advice!
An unforgettable experience is to hop on one of the "gabare", the flat-bottomed Loire boats from the "Passeurs de Loire" and go up and down the Loire with the highly knowledgeable people that will explain you everything about the Loire from birds and nesting areas to construction secrets!
For the daring, there are even a few beaches, when the weather is with you it can be a treat. Canoeing lovers can take a very nice float from Gien down to Sully or Châteauneuf, at least if her Majesty the Loire has enough water.
Golf courses are available within driving distance too. As are (for the lovers) quite interesting and lovely small equestrian centres around.
Finally, no need to mention that town, village or city you will drive through, will offer majestic restaurants, or secret auberges, and we can give a list of those if you are in the mood!
Cosa ci piace, cosa non gradiamo… Ecco le regole in casa nostra.
We tend to want to avoid dogs or cats as one of us is allergic and would like to keep the house allergen free.
Smoking is only possible outside, but there is so much to look at outside that you won't mind!
Possible is a car exchange/lending. Needs to be agreed directly.
