We had a wonderful short stay in Victoria. The location was perfect for cycling and dining out and the apartment was comfortable and well appointed. I even got to swim in the ocean, it was very warm! Our home and kitty were well looked after. Thanks for a great exchange.

Our neighbourhood is mixed commercial/residential with close access to parks, walking and bke trails, and a community garden.A small shopping mall with supermarket, pharmacy/post office, liquor store, and other outlets is a 10-minute walk. A larger mall with clothing stores, walk-in medical clinic, dentist, optometrist, and other goods and services is a 5-minute drive. Most parts of the Greater Victoria Area are within a twenty-minute drive, and there's easy access to Highway 1 for visiting other parts of the island.

It is a short walk to Gorge-ous Coffee with its excellent beverages and snacks and frequent live music. Nearby restaurants include Il Greco and Glo, a waterside restaurant/lounge with a sunny patio. Garden-lovers will enjoy the world-renowned Butchart Gardens and the lesser-known--and less overwhelming--Horticultural Centre of the Pacific, with its charming bistro.Whale-watching, fishing, golfing, hiking, and other outdoor activities are readily accessible, including the Galloping Goose and Lochside Trails for cycling or walking. Short ferry rides to southern Gulf Islands, 1 hour 35 minutes to Vancouver ferry terminal and Port Angeles, Washington, on the Olympic Peninsula.
