My husband and I have lived here in Melle since 2019, we got married in June 2020 and were lucky enough to welcome our daughter into our family in December 2021.
We enjoy nature and like to go hiking, both at home and while on a holiday.
We love our cup of coffee in the morning and like a good mix of activities on holiday. We like to keep busy, visiting cities, hiking beautiful nature trails, and relaxing at the seaside.
We speak Dutch, French, English, a little bit of German and some Turkish

WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR AN EXCHANGE IN THE SUMMER OF 2022, feel free to contact if you wish to come to Belgium between 18 July and 5 August! :)
We have a semi-attached, modern house with a nice garden.
In 2021, we renovated the ground floor with new tiles and floor heating.
Our main living area is a large, open-plan dining/family room, complete with a gas "woodburning" stove. You can also find the kitchen, washroom, shower, and toilet on the ground floor. On the first floor, you can find the bathroom, master bedroom and a baby bedroom. We can put up a single bed in the baby bedroom if necessary.
On the top floor, we currently have our two home offices.
Our house is close to Ghent (15-20 min drive), Brugges (45 min drive), Antwerp (45 min drive) and Brussels (45 min drive). Do you want to go further? We're about 3hours away from Amsterdam or 3,5-4hours away from Paris. But trust me, Belgium has a lot to offer!
We also live on a 10 min walk from the train station that can easily get you to Ghent or Brussels for example.
I have always done home-exchange with my parents when I was little and wish to continue this tradition with my own family now.

From our house it's a 10 min walk to 'Raposa', which is a small local restaurant. It's next to the train station and in that same area you have the local bakery (Finesse) and local grocery shop "Appel".
If you go into the other direction, you arrive at "Kouterslag", an area where there's a fishing pond, a playground for kids and a lovely area to start a 5km walk in nature.
I personally would recommend spending a day or two in the historical centre of Ghent, with the St Pieters abbey, the Gravensteen (medieval castle) and a ton of charming restaurants in the "Patershol"-area.
Belgium has lots to offer: history, nature (the Ardennes), the seaside, old towns (Bruges), etc.

It is important to us to find our house as we left it when we get back. If something broke during your stay, please let us know.
We would also very much appreciate it if you could feed our cat and water our plants when we're gone. We also have three chickens at the back of our garden. Feel free to use the eggs while you're here, just also make sure they have water and food available to them please ;-)
Our rooms are currently foreseen for a couple and a baby; but if you want to come with an older child that's also not a problem. Just let us know so we can make arrangements to put a single bed in the baby room.
