La nostra casa

Descrizione della casa che offriamo

Our large home is in Townsville's Bushland Beach suburb and open to simultaneous and hosted stays. We consider offers from around the world as we are prolific travellers . The fully-cooled house has en-suited master and guest bedrooms plus two bedrooms without ensuites and a large family bathroom. We are just 10 minutes walk to our local pub complete with public beach and kids playground that serves a variety of meals with daily specials and senior's discount. The local corner store sells cooked fish and chips which you can eat at a bench and table on the beach. Townsville's public spaces include a casino, a magnificent 2km long Strand development plus other quiet beaches, heated swimming pools with water slides, art galleries, many museums covering different themes, Great Barrier Reef Museum and Aquarium, historic buildings of art deco architecture, night and day clubs and alfresco street dining, modern shopping malls and century old pubs that engage your historic senses, beautiful flora and fauna habitats, scenic attractions outside of the city limits and mountain top views. Kangaroos roam parts of our suburb and koalas and other attractions, including WW2 relics are found on Magnetic Island. The tropical weather is ideal most of the year. To enjoy the hot days in comfort, go skating on Townsville modern ice rink.Townsville is a relaxing holiday city in its own right or it can be part of an extended driving holiday through North and Far North Queensland. We own a Citroen van and some basic camping gear, so take the vehicle and visit the area at your leisure. There is something here for everybody.

Descrizione del vicinato e dei paraggi

Bushland Beach is a suburb north of the Townsville CBD. Census statistics between 2006 and 2016 showed the northern beach suburbs of Townsville were Queensland's third fastest suburban growth area. It's modern residential living and growth is rapid. The weather is ideal all year round. Past local amenities historically focussed on the beach. Backing onto the beach is now a modern tavern with internal restaurant, gambling room, a little kids pool which is available to all the local public, a fenced beachside park/playground with soft underfoot material and designed for children's safety and well-being in mind. Weddings are often held here. Recently installed in the suburb for older children are public sporting ovals with several free skateboard half-pipes, a new shopping centre, an old corner store, Sunday markets, open green spaces for safe walking and general playing of local sports. In a nearby suburb is a swimming pool with a heated kids pool, and a water slide complex. Townsville City have two viewing lookouts providing close and wider views of the whole city of Townsville. Are you looking for a good exercise spot? May we suggest you try the free walking track up Castle Hill. That'll do it for you. One of our favourite picnic spots is the old Cobb and Co horse changeover building situated about 20kms further north on top of the Great Dividing Range . The old building is now a coffee shop with meals and a small, but interesting free public museum displaying its 150 year old history and short nature walk. Bushland Beach's corner shop serves takeaway meals and coffee. Our recommendation is buy some fish and chips and take it down to the beach about 50 metres away. For fishing enthusiasts, there is a local boat ramp to safely launch small trailer boats. Kangaroos are common in our neighbourhood. We look out for them on our daily walk with our dogs to the beach. Townsville has more than beaches and eco-tourism though. There are paved walks, along Ross River, guided and self-guided city walks, important historical sites, art galleries and museums, art deco buildings in magnificent condition, many different swimming options, ice skating rink, sailing, bi-plane flights, ferries across to Magnetic Island for day trippers, several high-end shopping malls, modern movie theatres and fine dining precincts. High energy social activities include plenty of dancing options, ice skating, lawn, tenpin and carpet bowls, sailing clubs, rowing clubs, tennis clubs, motor sports tracks. If you want them you will find extreme sports such as ocean diving on Magnetic Island, sky diving, four wheel driving etc. The last week of July/early August is the occasion of Australia's foremost annual Chamber Music Festival. Participants herald it as a world class event. The same period is a general cultural time for Townsville as there are other artistic events that get most of the general public interested. Then of course, Townsville is the home of the North Queensland Cowboys National Rugby League team which competes in winter and the Townsville Fire Women's National Basketball team, the Breakers who compete in summer. Both the Fire and Cowboys have recently won their national competitions in the past two years. It isn't expensive to see their home matches. The list goes on. Pick your highlights. It will be tiring if you try to see or do everything. Being a regional city, the road traffic is reasonably light. Consider it a maximum 25 minute drive to anywhere in Townsville. For who wish to use it, the local Sunbus service has a modern bus stop just a couple of minutes walk from our home. Our home is large, modern and designed with open plan living in mind. It is always cool but never cold. We display a number of interesting art works but art is in the eye of the viewer. Our guest bedroom is new and comfortable. Visitors have plenty of options to choose from. We invite you to visit us and experience just a little bit of what's on offer here.

I nostri consigli su cosa non perdere in questa zona

Townsville is the business centre of North Queensland with a major university specializing in marine biology, casino and soon to have an active international airport. The CBD has many Art Deco style buildings which have been well maintained or renovated. Townsville is the business centre for the Great Barrier Reef and hosts the Great Barrier Reef Museum. The city was a major Second World War garrison and is now home to large military garrisons and an air force base. The city has several wartime museums and commemorative sites. Magnetic Island has a koala sanctuary and koalas can be seen in the wild occasionally, along with wartime large gun emplacements, beaches and walks. West of Townsville is the historic mining city of Charters Towers with historic buildings used in movies including Australia's only stock exchange building outside a capital city. North and south of Townsville are sites of spectacular natural scenic beauty. Townsville is home to Queensland's second licensed casino.
