we are looking for 2 types of swap. First one is for this year from around mid August to mid December for Sydney (as we have to do some work there). Then from March 2023 we are after the UK.

We are originally from the UK and have lived in different parts of Australia for over 30 years. We are ideally looking for a long term swap, so that we can spend time visiting family and friends and explore the UK. However we are open to shorter swaps if we can make it all work. If you are looking for a stay outside one of the major Australian cities in a stunning part of Australia, then our home could be for you!
We are ideally located midway between Sydney and Brisbane (with a local airport that has good city links). We chose this area due to what is has to offer and its central location, which allows us to easily explore the rest of Australia without the headache of having to escape from a big city first!
Our 150+ acreage property is located on the outskirts of the rural community of Beechwood on the beautiful NSW Mid North Coast, approximately 30 minutes from the coastal town of Port Macquarie, which is known for its extensive beaches, waterways and excellent swimming and surfing sports.
Beechwood is a village community with a pub (voted best country pub in NSW in 2022), café and community tennis courts. It is 15 minutes from the charming country town of Wauchope which has everything you’ll need, including boutique shops, pubs offering great country food, restaurants and cafes.
If you want more, 30 minutes away is Port Macquarie, relaxed, yet stylish with spectacular beaches and the majestic Hastings River (where you will often see dolphins frolicking in the water). It has everything to help keep you entertained, from chilled cafes, bars, award winning restaurants and local wineries. For the more adventurous, there is always surfing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, both river and sea, or perhaps a relaxing cruise (with Whale watching at different times of the year). The region is full of stunning countryside, with State Forests and National Parks offering amazing walks, many are part of the Gondwana Rainforests World Heritage Site.
Our home has plenty of room, with 4 double bedrooms, plus study (good internet if you need to work from home), 2 bathrooms, with multiple indoor and outdoor living areas. A peaceful and private spot with stunning vistas everywhere you look; a combination of open pastures and bush with plenty to see and explore. Our property offers a true escape; it’s quite simply heaven! It has an abundance of wildlife and birds, such as Wedge Tailed Eagles, Kites, Kestrels, Black Cockatoos, Bower Birds, Parrots, etc. If you stay here, most mornings you will wake up to Wallabies and Kangaroos outside the windows (enjoying my garden plants!), usually with at least one Joey in a pouch!
We love living here because it provides the perfect balance of a reclusive existence, surrounded by nature, yet offers the convenience of town living on our door step, with beautiful waterways, beaches and a foodies heaven. If you need to escape from the world for a while, but still want the comfort of knowing it’s nearby, then this place is for you! If you want to explore further afield, it offers a fantastic base to explore other parts of Australia, either along country roads or the speedier motorway, or by train or air.
We fell in love with the property 3 years ago whilst on holiday in the area and decided to retire early, so we left the city behind and it’s every bit the paradise we had hoped for. We’ve spent 3 years getting the gardens sorted and now want to spend some time with family and a bit of UK exploration.
