Within 50 metres of apartment, one can get to the Bicentennial Bike/Pathway that goes from the University of Queensland at St Lucia, past Brisbane's Central Business District all the way to Hamilton.

Two CityCat Ferry Terminals are located in walking distance of my apartment. One is located on the city side of the river along North Quay whilst the second is located at Southbank just across the Brisbane River from my apartment. The CityCats are a great way of exploring Brisbane from there river and can take you to some of the interesting suburbs outside of the central business district. The Tour boat wharf is located directly across the river from my apartment - just a short five minute walk across the Victoria Bridge or the Kurilpa Pedestrian Bridge.

Mt Cootha and the D'Aguilar National Park - great for bush walking and observation of Australian native flora and fauna (15 minute drive).
Lone Pine Sanctuary - great place to see and learn about Australian animals (15 minutes drive).

Gold Coast and hinterland (great beaches and tourist attractions e.g., Wet& Water World, Dreamworld, MovieWorld, Lamington National Park etc.) - 55 minutes drive
Sunshine Coast and hinterland (great beaches and attractions e.g., Noosa, Montville, Australian Zoo, Edmund Markets) - 75-120 minutes drive.
