Seaside Heritage Villa, Napier (Nouvelle-Zélande - Hawkes Bay - Napier)

Notre Livre d'or

  • Lyall Bay, Wellington We have enjoyed two exchanges in Sue and Howard's delightful pied a terre. The studio is cosy and homely, with everything one could need and being well off the road it is quiet and private. The situation is great, only a short taxi ride from the airport with regular buses into the city and delightful Seatoun. The beach is just two blocks away where one can enjoy the beautiful rugged coastline on the walk round to Island Bay. Lyall Bay is an interesting and vibrant area with some excellent cafes. Though close to the city, it feels a world away. Sue and Howard has been so good to exchange with; friendly, helful and always accommodating.

  • Unfortunately this exchange was cancelled due a severe weather event (Cyclone Gabrielle) coming through and making roads impassable. Sue was wonderful to deal with in all respects, clear, responsive and friendly. I hope we get another opportunity one day.

  • A wonderful historic villa.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Sue & Howard's lovely historic villa. The views from the deck were stunning and provided the perfect spot to enjoy a morning sunrise and evening drinks. The home is beautifully presented, very comfortable and very interesting. The location is perfect to walk down into the city where all facilities are close by with a great range of cafes and restaurants. Thank you so much for sharing with us.

  • Heavenly.

Sue and Howard's charming, historic home is located perfectly to enjoy the many jewels of Napier, with expansive views looking onto Hawke Bay. The gardens are divine and the house is filled with artwork, crafts and fascinating history while still feeling airy and spacious. There's a very smart, modern kitchen and the bed was super comfie. A peaceful neighbourhood with many friendly folks, which I must say is typical of Napierites. There's a 25m lap pool and hot spas only a 10 minute walk from the front door. We enjoyed many cycling adventures, visiting the vineyards, Te Mana peak, the waterfront, art galleries etc. and returned from our holiday with a multitude of marvelous memories. Thank you Sue and Howard for sharing your slice of heaven.

  • Howard and Sue are a lovely couple and they met us at the door, showed us around their charming historic home, gave us some lunch and presented us with a very thoughtful gift before departing for Wellington to stay in their apartment, as they are coming to us in 2020. The position was amazing overlooking all of Napier, and especially at night. The house was well equipped with everything we needed and luckily we are both fairly fit as the stairs both inside and outside are fairly steep - not really suitable for Octogenarians ! It was really central to the charming town of Napier and all it's famous Art-Deco plus surrounding vineyards and beautiful scenery. A great exchange.
