We had a pleased exchange to switzerland to their old home. The children loved the cats! The communication before and inbetween the exchange was clear and warm. We exchanged lots of photos. First we thought there would not enough to see but that was not. We went to the medival city Sion, skiing to Zermat, swimming to the Leuker therme, walking through the wineyards and we visited friends in Lausanne and in Basel. We recommend a car in this region to get around.
We stayed a couple of weks in Savièse, near Sion, in the house of our hosts the Frésard family. A very nice and helpful couple that we contacted prior to our departure so that we exchanged plenty of information. The house is in the slope of the mountains of Saviése, where you are surrounded by vineyards. The place is like a post card. A very well and fully equiped house, we felt very comfortable and enjoyed the hostage of Felix and Scarlett, two quiet friendly cats. Any place you could drive from there is a worth nice place to vist. Marie-France and Jean Claude oferred to us a very nice welcome as we opened the door of the house there was a tray with buiscuits, chocolate and some of the very well known goods of the area. We could visit Sion, the capital of Valais,a medieval city with two castles. There are some small lakes very near where we could go swimming while watching the impresive mountains with snow on their summits. We felt like at home enjoying 34 degrees C of temp.
We enjoyed the area with skiing, and Aqualand, and so close to the french border. The old town of Sion was very charming and the castle was well worth a visit. The house was charming and surrounded by the mountains on all sides. we enjyoyed the morning sun on the veranda and the evening sun in the garden. We had what we needed in the local area and all the restaurants we visited had very good food and service. We recomend a stay in sion in the Fresard house! Best wishes from The Slang Family
