The home is spacious, spotlessly clean, and very well-equipped with nice furniture and great linens. We especially appreciated the space we had for all our clothes, such a treat after being on the road for a month! We had coffee every morning on the patio watching the desert come awake. We also hiked many miles on beautiful trails and enjoyed lots of restaurants nearby. Thank you, Chris and Daphne, for exchanging with us!

Description de notre maison d'échange
Our adobe-style desert retreat is calm, comfortable, casual, and clean. This spacious single level home includes a principal bedroom with a king bed, ensuite with two vanities, and a separate tub and shower. On the other side of the house is another bedroom with queen bed, a third room (the writer's studio) with a desk and a futon for relaxing, and bath with a shower/tub.
The open-concept great room has 14' ceilings and includes the kitchen, dining area, and lounge area with a Southwestern fireplace. There's also a cozy TV entertainment room, a shady back patio and a charming front courtyard with Santa Fe gate. We've retained all the native desert plants including saguaro cacti on this almost-an-acre lot. There is plenty of parking in the circular drive and 2-car garage. There are pleasant mountain and desert views in every direction.
This is the place if you want easy access to Saguaro National Park West, Tucson Mountain Park, and like to hike, bike, golf, hit the casino, stargaze, watch birds, and relax in natural desert surroundings. There is a fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals, whether healthy or indulgent. Or, skip the dishes and try one of Tucson's famous restaurants (from casual to fine dining) in the first U.S. destination named a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.
Home has 3 TVs and wifi internet. Programming includes 37 Local TV channels plus a Roku device for streaming TV. Or bring your own Amazon Fire Stick, Roku, Apple TV, or laptop computer and connect to our TVs. A DVD/CD player with DVD collection, and Sony audio system complete the entertainment system. There is great mobile phone coverage from a nearby cell tower.
World famous attractions are close by: 15 minutes to Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and Saguaro National Park West. 5 minutes to the Tucson Mountain Park. 20 minutes to San Xavier del Bac Mission built in 1797. 5 minutes to the Tucson Trap & Skeet Club. The renowned University of Arizona is an easy 25 minutes away with a multitude of cultural offerings including theater, music, museums, sports events and so much more. The excellent Tucson International Airport is 25 minutes away, and commuter airport Ryan Airfield is even closer.
There is so much to do in Tucson!
Our guests have especially enjoyed golfing, cycling, touring Biosphere 2, Titan Missile Silo, Pima Air & Space Museum, Tucson Museum of Art & Historic Block, Casino Del Sol, Kitt Peak Observatory, Mt. Lemmon Sky Center, and the largest airplane boneyard in the world.
Popular day trips include the historic mining town of Bisbee and Tombstone, where you can see a re-creation of the shoot-out at the OK Corral, Kartchner Caverns State Park and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. Bird watchers "flock" to Madera Canyon and Patagonia.
Tucson, Arizona is one of the nine cities worldwide honored as a 2017 World Festival & Event City. Highlighted events include the strange and beautiful All-Souls Procession, El Tour de Tucson bicycle race, the annual Tucson Gem & Mineral Show, and one of the world's great book fairs, the Tucson Festival of Books.
The sunrises are inspiring, and the sunsets are spectacular. Tucson has both excellent air quality and gorgeous weather all year long, and the brilliant winter days are sunny and warm, with average highs of 70°F or 20°C. Money Magazine Aug 2018 named Tucson as one of the 10 Best Vacation Values and nearby Saguaro National Park one of the 10 Best National Parks for Your Money.
We think you will enjoy Tucson as much as we do!

Description de notre quartier et ses alentours
Unique rural neighborhood where you might spot mountain deer, javelinas, hawks, quail, coyotes, cowgirls on horseback. Large lot sizes. Wide flat roads are fun to explore on bicycle, but a car is a must for getting out and about. Mix of retirees and families. Surrounding area includes virgin desert, retirement villages, and small ranches. Area is growing, with new shopping and dining options adding monthly. Views include Golden Gate Peak in the Tucson Mountains, Kitt Peak to the west, and gorgeous starry nights as Tucson has a "Dark Skies" ordinance that limits night-time light pollution.

Ce qu'on apprécie, ce qu'on apprécie moins… Voici nos préférences et nos règles de maison.
Our home will be tidy and clean for you, and we expect you'll leave it that way for the next guests. If you like, we can recommend a trusted (bonded, licensed) housekeeping service. We'll provide a security checklist for locking up and securing the property for your departure.
As all the plantings are native and natural, there's nothing you need do to care for the landscape except maintain the courtyard and patio (sweeping, mostly). You'll need a car. We can help you plan an itinerary for sights to see and day trips. We've been in Tucson for two decades and will provide a detailed guest guide so you can make the most of your time.
