Barn Owl Cottage is situated in one acre of garden with river frontage. The river is navigable and we have a small open electric day boat that you can use.

We are in the heart of the Norfolk Broads (lakes and rivers) near Norwich, East of England and 10 kilometres from the sea.

The main part of our cottage was built in approx 1800 and has exposed beams and gallery to the lounge providing a very 'English country cottage feel'. We have added a modern extension which provides a second lounge and dining area.

Accommodation is over 2 floors with full central heating. On the ground floor a large garden room with windows on all sides providing good views of our garden and river frontage. The garden room, which has central heating radiators, is a large lounge with flatscreen TV and dining area and leads into a newly fitted kitchen. Microwave, electric oven, large fridge, washing machine and filtered drinking water. The shower room and toilet are just off the small hallway. The sitting room has a wood burner only for winter use. On the first floor there is a bedroom with a very comfortable double bed.

The large gardens are laid to lawn with shrubs and mature trees. Also features the remains of a historic flint lime kiln. The garden room has French doors that lead onto a patio. There is plenty of outside garden furniture, a gas barbeque and various garden games.

There are two bicycles, also fishing is possible from garden. Please ask if you need fishing equipment. There is good walking and quiet cycling direct from our door.

The North Norfolk coast, an area of outstanding beauty is half an hour away and has beaches, stately homes and pretty villages.

The historic city of Norwich is just 15 miles with many cultural attractions, including a 1000 year old castle and cathedral. It is a bustling shopping centre full of fantastic shops, a historic market place and fabulous restaurants.

From Norwich trains run into the city of London every hour and the journey takes just under two hours. Nearest train station is Wroxham approx 5 miles away which links to Norwich, or Norwich train station is 35 minutes drive where parking is available.

Cambridge with its world renowned University's is only an hour and half away by car or by train.

Our cottage is only suitable for one or two people. Sorry not suitable pets.

We are 30 minutes drive from Norwich airport or 2 hours by car, train or coach from London Stanstead Airport.
Also 2 hours from car ferry at Harwich link to the Netherlands.
