Our 3,000+ sq. foot home is nestled in the lush mountains of NC, just a mile down the road from beautiful waterfalls like Triple Falls, in DuPont State Forest in Cedar Mountain, NC. On 5 1/2 acres of woods with creeks for play, and one beautiful spring water pond (fed by a creek) for swimming, you could enjoy a mountain vacation staying put at our house, or just travel down the road for famous hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, swimming, and waterfalls! Google waterfalls in DuPont State Forest (where "Hunger Games" and "Last of the Mohicans" were shot) for views (Triple Falls, High Falls, Hooker Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, etc). We are in Transylvania County, NC, "Land of Waterfalls", with 250 named waterfalls! Brevard, NC is just a 15 minute drive away, with all the charm of the historic downtown, great restaurants, and craft breweries! Pisgah National Forest, home of Looking Glass Falls, and Sliding Rock (as well as many secret adventuring treasures), is just on the other side of Brevard 20 minutes from our house! Hendersonville, NC (apple country, restaurants, and beautiful downtown) is 20 minutes the other direction, and Asheville, NC, home of the famous Biltmore Estate, is 45 minutes away. Although our area will draw you to the outdoors, you will feel very comfortable indoors as well! Our family has updated our home with wood and tile floors, large windows, a beautiful kitchen, wood-burning stove fireplaces, and our favorite, the huge deck, with grill and wood smoker/chiminea, overlooking the beautiful yard, stone steps, and pond! Oh, and our pond is stocked with large rainbow and brown trout; help yourself to dinner!

Our lower level/walkout basement has just been finished, and we are working on the final touches. Down there is a second living room (with wood burning stove), Foosball table, 2 guest bedrooms (sleeps 9), and a beautiful bathroom with "rain" shower! We'll update the photos as we put on the finishing touches!
