We love to travel. We've been exchanging for over 20 years and we've exchanged all over the world. We're very houseproud and we'll leave your home at least as clean and tidy as we find it. We've both been completely Covid-free and we're both fully vaccinated, including booster jabs in Nov '21 and Sep '22.
All our exchange partners have loved the natural beauty of the Yorkshire Dales, and we're sure you will too!

Description de notre maison d'échange
A very comfortable, self-contained waterfront apartment in a converted and refurbished 19th Century watermill in Airton, a beautiful, historic riverside village near Skipton in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The mill is situated on the edge of the village, set in a delightful rural location on the banks of the River Aire. There are fine views along the river and over the Pennine Way long-distance footpath to the fields and woods beyond. The Yorkshire Dales is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with superb scenery everywhere. The Dales has recently been voted Best National Park in Europe by TripAdvisor.
Our apartment contains 2 bedrooms, bathroom (bath/shower), fully fitted kitchen (fridge/freezer, cooker, washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher etc.) and lounge/diningroom (TV/radio, dvd/cd player etc.). There is a double bed in the larger bedroom and 2 single beds (one a trundle bed) in the smaller. The apartment is very comfortable and there is everything there you'll need for an enjoyable stay. We have high-speed wireless broadband for internet access.

Description de notre quartier et ses alentours
The mill sits alongside the picturesque River Aire, fields and countryside. Airton is a typical small Yorkshire Dales village, yet is only 9 miles from the historic market town of Skipton. It is an ideal centre for walking - there are hundreds of miles of footpaths around, through fields, hills and dales, and alongside rivers, canals and streams, for short walks, half-day or full-day hikes, or multi-day treks. Airton is also handily placed for horse-riding, fishing, canal boating, golf, pony trekking, mountain biking, heritage railways, dark sky observing and lots of other activities. It's also a good centre for touring and exploring the rest of the Dales. Find your favourite English village pub!
We are served by international airports at Manchester and Leeds/Bradford.
Yorkshire as a whole provides an interesting mix of stunning and dramatic countryside, picturesque villages, charming market towns, cosmopolitan and historic cities and wonderful coastline. There is an enjoyable contrast between its history and heritage, and cutting edge culture, art and designer shopping.

Nos conseils pour des restaurants, cafés, shopping et activitiés à ne pas manquer
Hills, dales, rivers, streams, canals, traditional farms, hiking and walking footpaths, horseriding, villages (many with cosy pubs), market towns, imposing country houses (many of them National Trust properties), historic castles ... TV's Herriott Country, It's a Vet's Life and Heartbeat country are within easy reach, the popular film 'Calendar Girls' was shot in an adjacent dale very close by, and the beautiful Lake District is about an hour's drive away. Haworth, famous for the literary Bronte family, is within easy reach. There are many lovely Dales villages in the area, most with traditional, cosy English pubs (most of which also serve meals), and there are also several interesting market towns nearby, such as bustling Skipton and Settle. Larger towns include the elegant Georgian spa town of Harrogate, Ripon with its historic castle, York, with its world-famous Minster, castle and narrow cobbled streets, and Leeds, England's 4th city, booming and exciting. There are several heritage steam railways nearby. The east coast (Whitby (Capt Cook's home port), Robin Hood's Bay etc.) is 90 miles away; west coast 40 miles.
Enjoy the local wildlife - rare and interesting birds and mammals including otters and deer. Come and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Dales, an International Dark Sky location.
