We had a lovely week in Eynsham and visiting the area. We were lucky to have enough dry weather to get out and about. A short bus ride to Oxford or drive to Woodstock, Clivedon, Burford, Henley and somewhat muddy walks in the nearby woods where much enjoyed. We had everything we needed and Craig and Anna were very generous hosts and we enjoyed staying in their cosy home.

A region so rich to discover. Oxford's reputation is deserved because it is a charming city. We also really appreciated the surrounding villages, among the most beautiful we have seen in England. Many castles and gardens, very good addresses given by Anna and Craig, allowed us to spend a pleasant stay full of beautiful discoveries.

Description de notre quartier et ses alentours

Tucked away in a no-through road in the centre of the village, our home is within 5 minutes walk of a deli, 3 cafes, 2 restaurants, 6 pubs, a pharmacy, a post office, a butchers, a fish and chip shop, a DIY shop, and 2 small supermarkets. There's also a large wooded park with a stream, a zip wire, a skate park and 3 playgrounds. The village has a long history, stretching back more than 2000 years and once was home to an important abbey, but today it really does have everything. Including great transport links, with 40+ busses a day taking you to Oxford in 20 minutes, (stopping en-route at the train station to get you to London in an hour). Or drive out to the Cotswolds in 15 minutes. But why would you leave the village, when there are great local walks, ancient oak woods, safe river swimming and important Roman and paleontological sites nearby.
