We have had a wonderful time in Zwolle. We loved the bicycle pathes, swimming in lakes and in the river IJssel. Our kids played Basketball a lot since the court was nearby the house. The house is very nice and comfortable. There was nothing that we missed. Meeting and talking to Marita, Pieter and the kids was also very nice.

Pieter and Marita spent three weeks in summer at our place, while we were travelling elsewhere. It was very much reassuring to know that they were there to care for the house, the garden and our guinea pigs. Communication was very nice during planning and during the stay. When we came home, we were welcomed with a present and a nice letter, and of course, everything was perfectly in order. Thanks for taking care!

Dear ones! Almere, 25.07.2020 We look back gratefully on our time with you in Almere. We enjoyed your hospitality, your beautiful house and your region. You are blessed with miles and miles of cycle paths, on which we enjoyed cycling to the Markermeer, the Green Cathedral or the Gooimeer, far away from any car traffic. We were happy to be in Amsterdam within 20 minutes by train and were deeply touched to be able to follow the traces of Anne Frank and her family. The Anne Frank House, apart from its history that made us humble, also made us silent with its museum didactics. We were also amazed at the Netherlands' great achievement of turning sea into land when we visited various places on the Ijsselmeer: we were particularly impressed by the museum in Lelystad, the visible polders in Flevoland and of course the final dike. We were also pleased to see many beautiful places and beaches along the North Sea. We especially liked the beach below the campsite in Bloemendaal, which we visited more often. Again and again we came across the unspeakable history of the Nazi Germans in the Netherlands: a dike blowing up near Medemblik, the execution of numerous resistance fighters in the dunes of Bloemendaal and the persecution of so many Jews during this time. In addition to many Dutch people who resisted, we were particularly impressed by the Christian-motivated resistance of the ten Boom family from Haarlem, which encouraged us to use our faith to work for peace and the preservation of creation. Our Summervacation 2019 was in Almere, Netherlands. From Almere it is easy going, by train or car, to other parts of the Netherlands. To explore Almere and its surrounding you go by bike. It is lovely to see all the water and the bridges. Ofcourse you take swimclothes with you because there are lot of places were you can take a swimm and rest . The house was clean and big enough for our family of six. Our contact, before, during, and after the home exchange with Marita and Pieter was nice and friendly. We loved our vacation that much that we could visit Almere one more time!!

Wat een leuke huizenruil. Wijzelf en de kinderen vonden het fantastisch. De kids hebben zich met het gevarieerde speelgoed; playmobil, spelletjes, dublo, fietsen, ... kunnen uitleven. We hebben prachtige fietstochten in Almere gedaan. Zowel het stadje als de natuur zijn een aanrader. Alles is op fietsafstand. We zijn ook naar Oud Valkeveen, een pretpark geweest. De kinderen hebben daar een hele dag gespeeld terwijl wij ons boekje konden lezen. 's Avonds genoten we op het terras van een aperitiefje terwijl de kinderen op het grasveld voor het huis met anderen voetbalden. Kortom, we hebben ervan genoten.
