Maura's home was very well equipped and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the lovely back garden. Maura was very welcoming and kindly left lots of local produce for us along with lots of info on the local area. There was a beach about a 10 minute walk away but a number of nicer beaches could be reached with about a 10 minute drive. Hook Head Lighthouse was about a 20 minute drive away. There was a wonderful walk along the coast, between the Lighthouse and Slade Harbour (about 45 minutes each way). There was a nice restaurant at the Lighthouse to break the journey. We were very fortunate that we had great weather while staying in Fethard, which enabled us to enjoy the sights and have some lovely walks in nearby Tintern Abbey and JKF Arboretum. A great week was had by all.

We had a lovely 10 day holiday in Maura’s beautiful holiday home in Fethard on Sea. The garden and patio were a delight. The weather was amazing and the beach was a short distance from the house. We had everything we needed in the house which included beach chairs, beach towels, etc. The area was a joy to discover. We loved a local gastro pub called Neville’s. Lovely food and great staff. Visiting Hook light house is a must and Dunmore East for some really fresh fish. The Londis store is the village was well stocked and the staff were also very polite and helpful. SuperValu in Wellingtonbridge was a short drive away and was also very good. We loved Maura’s house and we are very grateful for the exchange opportunity. The lovely local produce Maura left for us were delish and also the homemade potato salad and home made jams were gorgeous. We would recommend Maura as a future exchange partner as all info on the house and the area were very helpful. Thank you Maura and family.

Thank you so much, Maura, for swopping your lovely cottage in Fethard-on-Sea with us. My friends and myself really enjoyed it. We took a,very enjoyable, three hour "Cave Kayaking", trip one day. Got some beautiful weather ,sunbathed on three afternoons on beautiful sandy beaches (of which there are many). We took many long walks along the cliffs. I was not aware that there are such beautiful places around there and any amount of old castles. Your cottage is very tastefully appointed, containing everything required for a lovely stay. Johnny and I spent two great weeks in Maura's lovely cottage in the sunny south east. The house was spotlessly clean on our arrival and it was furnished with everything we needed to make our holiday comfortable and enjoyable. The pretty garden to the rear of the cottage is quiet and secluded and we spent many evenings outdoors enjoying the warmth over a glass of wine. Maura's cottage is ideally located to explore the famous landscape known as The Hook Peninsula along with many nearby beaches and other historic landmarks.
