At the centre of a friendly and traditional English village the Old Vicarage faces a C12th century church in a designated conservation area. Once famous for fox-hunting, it is now renowned for its Stilton cheese and pork-pies. Leicester City 25 mins, (15 mins train from Melton), has a lively open market and, in its Medieval quarter, a Cathedral, Guildhall and widely acclaimed Richard III museum. Along with Nottingham (30 mins), it offers excellent theatres, restaurants and shopping.
